NDP leadership candidates to attend virtual debate on Palestine

On January 21 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. EST, Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East (CJPME) will host a virtual debate on Palestine between four of the five Federal NDP leadership candidates.
Tanille Johnston, Avi Lewis, Heather McPherson, and Tony McQuail will all participate. Rob Ashton will not attend due to his prior commitments as President of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU).
Topics will include international law and accountability, anti-racism and anti-hate legislation, trade and diplomacy. CJPME is a non-partisan organization and does not formally endorse any particular political party or candidate.
On X (formerly Twitter), CJPME stated that the debate will bring attention to the priorities of pro-Palestine voices. Every candidate in the NDP leadership race has, in accordance with Amnesty International and the United Nations, recognized the ongoing genocide in Gaza.
The event is free for all to attend
